Dr. Rafael Ignacio Araos Bralic
Principal Investigator, Universidad del Desarrollo, Chile
Dr. Rafael Araos trained as a doctor at the Salvador Hospital as an internist, he also worked as an infectious disease specialist at the Clinical Hospital of the Catholic University and Father Hurtado. In the academic area, he has been working for nine years at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad del Desarrollo. For the last ten years, he has been involved in the study of antimicrobial resistance. During the pandemic period, he was a member of the advisory committee, head of the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health and advisor to the Undersecretary of Public Health in the management, control and prevention of Covid-19. He has publications in prestigious journals such as The Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine and Nature Medicine, all these publications are related to the effectiveness of vaccines in Chile. These studies were crucial at the national level to make public policy decisions in the management of the pandemic and served as a reference for other countries to decide on booster doses in their vaccination plan.
Dr. Martin Terhardt
Pediatrician and Former Member of the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) RSV Working Group, Germany
Dr. Martin Terhardt is a distinguished pediatrician with over four decades of clinical and leadership experience in Germany. He began his career with medical studies at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf, specialized in pediatrics, and later managed his own group practice in Ratingen while also serving as a medical director and head doctor in Berlin. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Terhardt has significantly contributed to pediatric policy and public health, holding key roles on national committees such as STIKO and NAVKO and participating actively in regional pediatric organizations.
Dr. José Navarro Alonso
Pediatrician and Honorary Consultant in the Immunopreventable Diseases Area of the Spanish Ministry of Health, Spain
Dr. José Navarro Alonso is a vaccine expert and an Honorary Consultant to the Ministry of Health of Spain, having previously served as the Head of the Murcia Region’s Immunization Program and as a member of the MOH Advisory Committee on Immunizations (NITAG). Dr. Navarro is the founder of the Spanish Association of Vaccinology, and has contributed his vaccines expertise to a number of organizations and scientific advisory boards, including the European Vaccination Advisory Group, WHO’s Vaccine Safety Net, and Spanish Medicines Agency.
Dr. Navarro trained as a Medical Doctor at the University Autonomous of Madrid School of Medicine and completed his Pediatric Residency at “La Paz” Children´s Hospital in Madrid.
Professor Terry Nolan
Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, The University of Melbourne, Australia
Professor Terry Nolan is a pediatrician and clinical epidemiologist, graduated in medicine and in medical science from the University of Western Australia, trained in paediatrics at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and at the Montréal Children's Hospital, and received a PhD in epidemiology and biostatistics from McGill University in Montréal. He is Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Melbourne, and until recently, was head of the Vaccine and Immunisation Research Group (or VIRGo) at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. He was the Foundation Head of the Melbourne University School of Population and Global Health between 2001 and 2019. He was Chair of the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) for a decade. He is a former member of SAGE, the World Health Organization’s main advisory group on vaccines and immunisation. His expertise relates to epidemiology, immunisation, vaccine clinical trials, pandemic planning and response, research quality and impact, and the evaluation of the value of vaccines to society.
Dr. Todd Wolynn
Pediatrician and Executive Director, Trusted Messenger Program, a part of the Public Goods Projects, the United States of America
Dr. Todd Wolynn is a board-certified pediatrician, healthcare executive, and public health champion who drives evidence-based medicine and innovative communication practices to improve health outcomes. He has spearheaded initiatives in primary care management, reimagined pediatric practice, and served as a nonprofit board leader, clinical advisor, and researcher in vaccine and communication. His diverse expertise spans healthcare quality, immunization, breastfeeding, pediatric sleep medicine, and early childhood education, and he is dedicated to engaging patients, families, and communities.
